Management accountant

Our client, a well-established facilities management organisation is looking to appoint a permanent Management Accountant to join their existing team. With offices based in the North Kent area, the company will be working on a Hybrid work pattern which would be 2/3 days in the office per week. The client is looking for someone who is a strong and confident communicator who can build relationships with non-finance colleagues. Someone with an inquisitive, analytical and detailed nature who has experience of preparing journals, looking at the P&L and dealing with profitability/margin.

Job Description:

Part of team responsible for completing monthly management accounts for business unit
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the P&L statements
Responsible for Cost & Revenue journals (accruals, prepayments, accrued & deferred income), and experience reviewing contract performance with Cost Centre owners.
Preparation of month-end accounts within strict deadlines
Account’s interpretation and ability to communicate information
Contract profitability with variance analysis reporting and explanations
Interaction with non-Finance Managers and various ad-hoc reporting
Salaries journal, Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Active involvement in the interim and year end audit

Requirements:

Part - Qualified accountant with relevant experience, ideally from a similar industry
Must be numerate, analytical and have strong oral and written communication skills
Hands on experience of modern integrated ERP systems would be preferable but not prerequisite
Proficient in the use of excel
Previous experience of working with non-finance managers beneficial
Ability to work on own initiative and within cross functional group
